The message of the day allows an administrator to communicate messages to users in near real-time without a user having to refresh the application. These messages are intended to make it easy for administrators to announce temporary status messages for system issues, weather-related closures or emergency situations.
Upon navigating to this administrative feature an admin user is presented with the following form:
Message Type - Pick from a standard list of Bootstrap colors: info (blue), warning (yellow), Danger (red), Light (white), Dark (dark grey), Success (green)
Message Text - The text to appear in the message. Keep this text brief.
Icon - Optional Fontawesome icon to prefix the message text. Click the link below this field to explore available icons from the free edition of Fontawesome.
Learn More URL - Optional web URL to explain more details about the message.
Expiration Date / Time - Optionally set a date for the message to expire. The message will be removed automatically at this time.
